Toyota Snags Three CR Awards

A dealer and automaker can tout their brand all they want, but when a trusted-third party recognizes the value of a car manufacturer or their models, people always take more notice. That might be why so many prospective car buyers are increasingly turning their attention toward the Toyota RAV4, Toyota Sienna, and Toyota Prius. Consumer Reports (CR) magazine recently awarded each of these cars with the following titles of distinction:
-     RAV4 (Recreational Active Vehicle four-wheel drive) - "Best Value Small SUV"
-    Prius hybrid - "Top Green Car" (for the eighth consecutive year)
-    Sienna minivan - "Best Family Hauler"

HYDROGEN AT THE PUMP

Drivers of fuel-cell vehicles in Southern California might soon be flocking to a new hydrogen fueling station in Torrance to power up their cars. The public Torrance station, operated by Shell on land leased from Toyota, is the first in the country to pull hydrogen from an existing and active pipeline.

Toyota doesn't plan to have fuel-cell vehicles on the mass market until 2015, but the company plans to use the station for a demonstration program, which it says will include more than 100 vehicles within two years.

·  By rotating your tires, your vehicle's braking will be more even, effective, and the handling will be more balanced. Evenly…

FR-S Gives Scion A Chance

Scion unveiled their FR-S concept last week at the New York Auto Show - a possible replacement for their two door coupe, Scion tC, now available at Metro Toyota, located at 13775 Brookpark Road in Cleveland, OH.

What's so different about FR-S? Aside from styling, which was taken from a Toyota concept, the car is a rear-wheel-drive sports coupe with "Ferrari-like" looks. This concept also features the latest Subaru flat-four engine (Toyota is part owner of both Subaru and Scion). A "flat engine" offers a low center of gravity, which helps with better stability and control. The drivetrain sits low, and also farther back, providing excellent front-to-rear weight distribution.
