These 3 indicators often work in tandem; you'll typically notice that they come on in slippery driving conditions (whether rain, sleet, or snow). If they come on and then go off again, they're simply to let you know that your vehicle knows that it is driving in slippery conditions and is compensating for this. If the VSC light comes on and stays on, even when you are no longer driving on slippery pavement, it is an indication that your vehicle's Stability Control System should be checked out by a Metro Toyota technician.

THE SCOOP ON SNOW TIRES

In spring and summer, tires are typically replaced when their tread depth approaches 2/32". In winter, however, greater tread depth is required for traction on Ohio's snowy roads - at least 6/32".

'Snow tires' (as opposed to all-weather or all-season tires) are typically molded with a deeper-than-average tread to increase the amount of snow that is picked up and released by the tire. WHICH CARS COST LEAST TO REPAIR?

Toyota has taken the top spot in a ranking of cars by repair cost in a report published by auto diagnostic and repair website CarMD. The report shows which companies' cars have both the fewest and the least expensive repairs. The rankings collect repair data from CarMD's network of 3,000 U.S. mechanics. The top-ranked model, the Toyota Corolla, had not only infrequent trips to the shop but an average repair cost of just $45.84. WINTER TIRE TYPES

There are 3 main types of winter tires:

Studless Ice & Snow: Developed to provide ice & snow traction similar to studded tires, but without using studs. These tires typically trade high-speed ratings and some handling responsiveness for enhanced snow & ice traction.

Performance Snow/Winter: Developed as high-speed winter tires for European driving conditions. These tires typically trade some deep snow and ice traction for enhanced dry and wet road traction, handling, and high-speed capability.
